Made for Creativity

Creativity is something that I believe lives inside everyone. You might not recognize it, but it is there. You were made to create. Creativity can express things a conversation cannot. It can make others feel and experience what the artist felt. It helps us understand things we never would have grasped. We were made by creativity and I would even venture to say we were made for it. When we are creative we reflect our creator.

Creativity is one of the only things in this world that increases as it is exercised. A rare unlimited resource. In truth, you can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

Great poet Maya Angelou said that. It’s like a muscle that gets stronger and more refined with use - and atrophied when neglected. Almost as if creativity is something we’re made for.

You were designed by the great designer. Your eyes were brushed on by the great painter, your hands scuplted by the great craftsman who pressed into you each unique fingerprint. Your voice was given to you by the great composer, your mind formed by the greatest imagination. Your heart was written on by the great author, and your soul was created by the architect of the heavens.

You, my friend, are a work of art. Whether you believe it or not, you were created with the most careful craftsmanship to be who you are. And the creativity of your designer lives inside you. Try it out. Just make something.
